“Healing Through Care: Menuka Sarki’s Journey to Overcome Bell’s Palsy”

Menuka Sarki (name changed), a 22-year-old from Kalikot, is part of our 2024 trainee cohort. Recently, she experienced Left Bell’s Palsy. Initially, the symptoms were mild, presenting as pain on the left side of her face, making it difficult for us to identify the condition. However, her symptoms quickly escalated, leading to speech difficulties and paralysis on her left side. The pain became unbearable for her.

Upon recognizing the severity of her condition, we promptly took Menuka to the nearest private facility, Alka Hospital. There, she was diagnosed with Left Bell’s Palsy. The attending physician prescribed a regimen of medication combined with facial therapy, which was to be followed for a month. This comprehensive treatment plan aimed to address both the symptoms and underlying cause of her condition.

Menuka diligently adhered to the prescribed therapy and medication schedule. Over the course of the month, she showed significant improvement. By the end of her treatment, she had fully recovered from the paralysis and pain that had once plagued her. Her speech returned to normal, and the mobility on her left side was completely restored.

Menuka expressed immense relief and gratitude for the swift and effective medical intervention she received. She is now back to her regular activities, thankful that her illness was promptly diagnosed and treated in Kathmandu. Her recovery is a testament to the quality of care provided by the medical professionals at Alka Hospital and the importance of timely medical attention.
